1. Is it wise for Starbucks to try to enter the "fastfood" fields with McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts?
I think so because people like coffee from Starbucks, I think if they drink cofee they might want some food to go with the coffee.
2. Do you think they will be successful?
I think they will. People like their coffee.
3. What are some ways that Starbucks can compete or gain customers without entering a battle with Fast Food companies?
They are trying to do breakfast partings.

Phelps avoids hot water with sponsors - for now
1. Would you as a sponsor continue to give money to Michael Phelps? I would, almost everyone want's to try smoking marijuana at least once.
2. Would you as a business owner still pay Phelps money to Market your products? Yes I would.
3. Post your thoughts about the situation. I honestly see that there is a problem with Michael Phelps smoking marijuana because he can hurt his swimming career, but on the other hand if he wants to smoke that stuff then he can. But If I were in his shoes I wouldn't because his swimming career is going to be over soon.

Kellogg tests space-saving box
1) Does the new Kellogg test box signal the beginning of the end for the current cereal box?Yes
2)What do you see as the benefits and/or drawbacks to the new box design? The benefits of the new design box is that it will take less space for your pantry, and in the consumer aisles, it holds less cereal in the smaller boxes.
The drawbacks of the new design is it won't fit into cupboards because they are taller and thinner.

Officials prepare tourism ad campaign
1. Is this enough to boost tourism to Hilton Head? I honestly think that if Hilton Head sends an ad campaign out to attract people from Atlanta and Charlotte that they will drive down to see the island since they will have deals on the hotels and the restuarants.
2. Is it wise to target consumers who are in driving distance? I don't think that it is since the gas prices are expensive and the long drive from one state to another takes up a lot of gas.
3. Is this slogan enough to catch your attention as a tourist? Not for me. I don't want to drive from Lexington to Hilton Head and waste a lot of money only on gas.
4. Create your own ad slogan for Hilton Head that you feel would gain attention and bring visitors to the Hilton Head area. Hilton Head come and visit the most coolest place to visit. We have a lot of restuarants, the beach is nice, and you can have a lot of fun down here to visit the shopping malls.

Poor earnings weigh on stocks
I chose this article because I am interested in the stock market right now, and when I saw this article I decided to read it. About half of the big companies are loosing money in the past three months of 2008. They still have a good chance to bring up their sales. Big companies are not sure what is going to happen in the stock market. Some companies are having a bad time with the market sales and they are borrowing money to stay in business.

Super Bowl ad costs $100,000 a second
1) What are you thoughts on a company spending this type of money on an advertisement? My thoughts are that is way too much money since the economy is bad, but if the money helps out for the superbowl then i guess it's a good way to spend money, since the superbowl commercials are the most expensive ones.
2)If you were a business owner or CEO woudl you spend this type of money to advertise? No I would not. I would spend a lot of money in the range of $50,000 but not $100,000 or a million dollars, to me that is too much money.
3) Do you think that the Super Bowl could bring a company that much more business than other times? Yes I do think that they could because they are spending a lot of money on those commercials for just 30 seconds or even 60 seconds to watch those during the show, and now they are comming out with a new commercial that's in 3-D so they must have spent a lot of money just to show that.
4) If you didn't advertise during the Super Bowl, what event would you focus most of campaign on? I would probably spend most of my campaign ad on what I'm trying to sell and maybe I would spend it on the superbowl.
5) Would this be a great place to spring board a campaign? I believe it would.

Coca-Cola Co. plans to launch new marketing campaign on 'American Idol'
1)
When you try to push people back on softdrinks the softdrink companies have put a lot of money into bottle of water, energy drinks, and sparkling juice. The softdrink sales for people buying them have gone down to 4.8% in the last 9 months. Some people say that soft drinks are the key to the company's success.
2)
I honestly don't think it will be sucessful because most people like softdrinks, and they also like the way they taste, and the way it wakes you up in the morning. I don't think people will cut back on that if they are spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on the drinks of their choice.
3)
I honestly think that if you change the label and the way the bottle looks of softdrinks that more and more people will buy the drinks. One they are softdrinks, and 2 the bottles look cool. If people really like softdrinks they will buy the drinks no matter what the bottle looks like.
4)
Celebrity spokesperson's really help sell goods. And I don't think it won't work here if you are trying to pull people away from softdrinks.

G vs. Gatorade
I think when Gatorade went to G that they would think more people would buy it just because it is another form of Gatorade. I also think that when they changed the name more people would be upset because athletes and regular people have bought Gatorade for the longest time. I do think it will work by changing the name because it's just another Gatorade product, but I also think that more people would buy the Gatorade, because they are used to seeing just Gatorade and now that their is going to be a G, then they won't be used to it when the drink first comes out. I honestly do not think the G drink will have an overall effect on Gatorade because people like Gatorade and when this new drink comes out they will more than likely choose the drink that they are used to seeing for the longest time. I think when Gatorade changed the name to G they would think more people would buy it to try it out, and also because it is another Gatorade product, they also think they will get more money out of the drink. I also think mostly athletes are drinking Gatorade because it helps them concentrate on the training they are doing and mostly it keeps them hydrated. When they switch over to the G they might not get into the game as much.
